  8. This program is a Morse code training aid.  It is used to achieve 
  9. user proficiency in receiving code.  This is a requirement of the 
  10. amateur radio licensing authorities in most countries.  The program 
  11. generates accurately timed Morse code in the Windows operating 
  12. environment.  In the early stages of learning, it can play as 
  13. slowly as required.  Once basic proficiency is obtained, sending 
  14. speed can be increased up to and beyond the level required by the 
  15. users local regulations.  NuMorse is packed with features.  The 
  16. following is a listing of just a few:

  18. Sound card support.  Capability to mix speech and Morse code.  User 
  19. can choose characters to learn and add extra characters as required.  
  20. Code can be played from random character stream, text file, keyboard, 
  21. or QSO generator.  User can alter code style to improve clarity.  
  22. User settings can be saved and reloaded.  Full Prosign support is 
  23. included.  Detailed statistics on user performance can be gathered.
  24. Several modes are supported that perform character guessing drills.  
  25. The user can guess the character and NuMorse will respond in various 
  26. ways including a phonetic speech correction.  The program can be set 
  27. to speed up and slow down in response to user responses.  Log files 
  28. will record user keystrokes as well as program output. Like any 
  29. Windows application, the clipboard allows cut & paste editing of 
  30. program text into other applications. Characters can be statistically 
  31. weighted to send some more often than others.  Code can be output by 
  32. sound card (preferred), PC speaker, code oscillator on printer port, 
  33. or built-in semaphore window.  Control codes in the text files allow 
  34. speed changes, voice narration, and screen messages to be mixed with 
  35. Morse code.  The script files that control the random QSO generator 
  36. are user programmable and can be configured to work in languages 
  37. other than English.  A comprehensive on-line help system is included.
